1972 - 1973
Transport Maintenance was started at a workshop yard and panel beater on the corner of Burrow Street and 15th Ave, Tauranga. The company built up a good reputation and established itself as Transport Maintenance.
1973 - 2005
In 1973 Transport Maintenance opened a second branch on 3rd Ave, Tauranga. They became the 1st company to bring Japanese import vehicles into New Zealand. During the 1980's and 1990's Transport Maintenance bought various franchises including Massey Ferguson, Hino Trucks, Isuzu, Mahindra, MTD/ Steelfort, Laser Wheel Alignment and Redstaff.
2005 - 2014
In 2005 the decision was made to close the 15th Ave workshop in order to consolidate and enhance the business at the one larger site in 3rd Ave. In 2014 Transport Maintenance moved to 100B Maleme Street. This move did not diminish the great standing which Transport Maintenance had earned itself in the community.
2014 - 2019
In 2016 Transport Maintenance partnered with Advanced Braking Technology of Australia as the distributor of failsafe brakes. They also acquired the Australasian distributorship for Electrostatic Spraying Systems(USA).
Transport Maintenance relocated to a larger site at 35 Maleme Street. This site provides larger workshop space for more mechanics to work comfortably, more office space and a large parking area for our clients vehicles. We employ apprentices and encourage our more experienced staff to share their experience and expertise.
Transport Maintenance and Damian O’Brien who owns Mobile Flywheel Machining began working together to provide heavy brake drum and flywheel machining on TML premises.
